Festival of colors

On Saturday (March 26) me and my roommate Melissa went to the Festival of Colors. It was awesome! It's at the Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork. Basically everyone walks around and throws chalk at each other. We got chalked pretty good! Luckily people mainly hit us with pink chalk which as you all know is my favorite color!
Every hour or two hours they would chant Radha Krishna and do a count down. Then everyone would throw a handful or bag of chalk in the air. So then there would be this huge cloud of chalk. It looked really cool. There were tons of crazies there. Lots of hippies. It was a fun place to people watch! Me and Melissa got lucky. This group of people came up to us and said ok close your eyes! Then threw chalk in our faces. Others however were not so lucky. Lots of people ended up eating and seeing the chalk very closely. (aka they got it in their eyes :))
Melissa is majoring in news broadcasting so she needed to film and interview people for a project. I got to help her. My job was to ask people if we could interview them then Melissa would ask them the questions. Oh and I would sit and watch the camera to make sure Melissa wasn't in the shot. I felt so important! Let me tell you....
We both bought some henna in the gift shop then gave ourselves tattoos :) I think mine looks pretty awesome! hehe... I got the design off a website and drew it on all by myself! Again it's been a successful day. Dang I am good. Nuff said.
To top off our most amazing day we went home showered did our laundry then got a phone call. Our other roommates Jessie and AnnaLynne called. They had arrived in Logan and then stopped at a gas station where AnnaLynne locked her keys in her car. So yes me and Melissa are heros. We saved the day and took them their extra key.
And here we found them inside the gas station sitting on the floor, reading atlas's. Luckily this happened here in logan rather than in spanish fork at the festival.  :)
It was a busy and most accomplishing day as you can see... PSH!!! hahaha
til next time.... <3 / that girl in the pink boots

  1. I bet the color festival was pretty cool. I had a roommate go to that she loved it. How long did it take you to get the chalk off?

  2. it actually wasn't too bad! When we were on our way back from Moab we stopped at the temple so a couple people could buy the chalk and the guy there told us to shake our hair out and brush as much off as we can before we shower. it worked pretty good. we just had to make sure we scrubbed our scalps pretty good :)
